We had a great time! Corky, Melanie, Ed, and a family of Mel's relatives, 3 girls and a boy camped with me at St. Vrain state park. It's about 10 miles from me and a really nice place. I should have taken more pictures of the kids gold panning as Ed taught them how and they loved it.

Corky and Ed both brought concentrates. Ed brought his bluebowl.

Getting the cons ready. Magneting and screening them.

Corky's the only one I know that has to have his Iphone to level a bluebowl.

There is gold there but it's Arkansas River and Douglas Creek so it's hard to see.

It wasn't all gold stuff. Here's Ed at the mike for the ham radio "field day" We strung an antenna in the trees and ran on battery and solar power. Ed made about 35 contacts all over the states an a few hours.

A great time was had by all. The older kids really got into cleaning the black sand with the magnets and the boy just wanted to pan and pan some more.

I'm kind of surprised that Mel got any time to take pictures. She was on the phone to work about 12 hours in the 2 days. We did have a great time though. Both the adults and the kids. Mel mad e few great Long Islands. I only drank part of one as I didn't want another "Wild Turkey" attack.
