I sure wish tommyknocker would step in and give us the scoop on those gold wheels. It has to be long enough now that it won’t hurt anyone. :ugeek:

Well, the mine was shut down at the time the pic was taken (2004). I was told later that it was for sale. Auriferous Tertiary Channel open pit mine in Nevada County. The wheels were not the primary recovery. The material was dumped into a grizzly/hopper, belted up into a Trammel, sluice, jigs, then wheels but there was also another smaller trammel. There are more pics, I'll have to find the disc...I was hiking equipment into my claim down river about 2006 and heard a helicopter circling repeatedly up that way for about an hour, always wondered if that was the owner or a prospective buyer.
