If it's about the use of the restrictor bar across the nozzle then I don't understand -
The pump's little and can move only so much material. Getting down to heavier material at the bottom of a hole means it's going to be working overtime to get the stuff at the bottom up to the crash box and will have a better chance of loading up with just the bulk of heavy material (all that gold of course) with large rocks and heavy gravel. It only makes sense to eliminate some of the larger rocks, don't you think?

And Yes, John - A mo better pump would indeed be nice. And an excavator, and a trommel, and heck, while I'm spending all this money I don't have, why not a nice Case 580 with Extend-a-Hoe (Bill - That's not a limber hooker).
