When I was backpacking in the wilderness with horses I carried sutures with needles and string atached in small packs, also some 5% lanocain to kill the sting and some small hypos to squirt the lanocain in the wound. Butterfly bandages work for mid range wounds. Don't wrap to tight and cut off blood flow to adjacent tissues.
If you are considering being in bad spot to get help situations it is a good idea to get some first aid training. Could save your butt and your life. Supplys are cheap and easily carried.
adventurous people can be prepaired just like professionals.
