It is likely that most old prospectors just hid their stash. When one would die unexpectedly, they would probably leave whatever gold they had buried somewhere on the property. Its something to think about when you see old houses for sale in gold country.

Not something we have to worry about in Oklahoma.

i did find a 1898- S double eagle in such a place.half the place was burnt down. had to dig a lot of junk then wammo it hit loud and clear. back in 82.

If the owner bought the property, it belong to them. When you buy a property everything on it it yours.
That's the way it is, If you leave something behind your loss.
