DEF Reunion

Postby libertydave » Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:19 pm

A bunch of us 2001-2002 DEF Alumni are going down to the SF Umpqua River in mid-July and plan to hoist a few to the memories of those attending the 2002 Dredge Earth First event. Yes, we'll be dredging and having fun, that is in the times between the celebrating and dredging and hoisting a few and celebrating and..... We're all ten years older now so we'll need to pace ourselves.

The site is...again...River's West RV Park located along Interstate 5 a couple miles north of the town of Myrtle Creek. And yes, there has been some good gold pulled out of this river (you'all know who you are who found it) and we're hopeful that we find a little more.

A couple of us asked the North American Miners Association (NAMA) if they would host the event this year and they are considering but hey, everyone is invited. Anyone interested out there? Leonard, Grivy, Matt....etc?

Likely dates are week of July 15 or July 22.

Regards, Liberty Dave

Sounds good to me. We are going to Douglas Creek to spread Geno's ashes and then on the Oregon! Keep us posted.

I've been looking for an Oregon outing and this will work for me. I have wanted to meet some of the original Western States DEF alumni crew. Russ, with some planning you could ride with me from Douglas Creek or Cheyenne to save gas and if Leonard is going it's gonna be a party...let's work on this trip! 8-)

With fuel prices the way they are I will most likely have to remain closer to home
It's a matter of economics....it really has nothing to do with my fear of sleeping at the Screaming Diesel RV Park...really

Screaming Diesel RV Park, mite not be that bad. the cost of fuel going high every one just mite park what ever they have to drive. in all the diesel motors are looking very good to be dropped in to my truck. at least i can make fuel all he places that have used cooking oil are being hit up like mad. from empty it cost me 20 bucks to fill up the motorcycle. it was not that long ago 20 bucks would fill up my pickup and get me to gatesville for a few days of camping and back. now it will get me only get me close to gateville be for i run out.
