They can take the dredge from the miner but you can't take the miner from the dredge. :) They most certainly can't take the memories. :D[/quote]

This is my last post on this thread. It serves no purpose to air our differences on a public forum. If anyone wants they can email me.

My points are simple.
We need to blame those who are actually to blame. In order it is: The Karuk tribe, the liberal politicians and voters. The DFG was only doing what they were made to do. Dave McCracken, PLP or any other person or organization had little to do with this. The tribe wanted something and they got it, the only variable was how long it took. One thing I can guarantee to those who blame DM for all of this. If he and the PLP did nothing during this, the ban would have been in effect in half the time.

We need to stay on the right side of the law. CGD, I can totally understand and relate to the memories you have, I have many of the same. However, It would be a shame if those memories ended with the last one being of you getting caught and losing all your gear and getting a hefty fine. Looking down the road if this ban continues and we continue to go renegade, they will start including jail time. The Yosemite Sam approach is fun to watch but really doesn't get you too far when it's time to go to court.

Bonaro,

Before you go for good, or at least till someone curses, which is called freedom of speech, and you decide to chime in again; I would like to know something. Was Dave McCracken, or those dredging on his claim, or a section of the river yet claimed, responsible for disrupting a legal Indian ceremony, after they were asked not to? By disrupting, I mean cranking up their dredge motors till it drowned out the ceremony, or is this an old wives tale? Also, did I miss you listing your email address? Lastly, you talk about staying on the right side of the law. Does this apply to those who are in this country illegally? They take a chance every day by being here, so what's wrong with those who are in the river dredging daily? If dredgers are caught, fined, etc., I don't see or hear of them clogging the streets in protest, as many (illegals) here in northern Colorado did when caught using the same social security number (over 15) to gain employment. The company was raided, and fined, and those found to be using the same SS were put in jail, and the word deportation came up. There was such an uproar from them and their dependents, who were also here illegally, except all the kids spawned here, they went on the 6 O'clock news crying they couldn't make it without their bread whiners, and their rights to do process were being violated. Isn't due process, and rights being violated, reserved for those of us who are on the right side of the law?

I thought I fought in Vietnam for the right for us to piss and moan on public forums, or is that not being on the right side of the law too?

Maybe we should hire some of the wall street protestors to dredge. They don't seem to have a problem with authority, and they can get paid by what they find, minus percentage.

Yes it happened, it was not condoned by DM. People do not always follow rules, or use good judgment. I don't know for sure, but the ones that did this probably forfieted their memberships, I know memberships have been canceled over similar stupidity.
