CDFG JUST RELEASED SEIR & PROPOSED REGS

Postby CalGoldDredger » Mon Feb 28, 2011 11:37 am

DFG Suction Dredge Website Link: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/suctiondredge/

Direct Link To Proposed Regs: http://www.nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=27429

At a quick glance looks like I will be dredging from Sept. 1st through Jan with a 4" nozzle restriction. (maybe this year)
Can have a motorized winch and larger dredge with a DFG on-site inspection (cost?) and written permission in hand. (oh, Boy)

Better than closed as many rivers on there are, not much better.

Just happy to be able to make plans for this Fall and 2012...hmmm.... wetsuit heaters..... and dredging for Christmas, sounds good. :)

Yep, will be headed up to AK for this summer.

Still reading this but looks like when I come back this fall I can dredge my claims till Jan. 31 2012 :D :D :D
It is reading that they will be issuing permits for late 2011 but only 4000 total for 2011-13. As I said still reading.

I'm in 30 feet of water....restricted to a 4" dredge, if I read it right. And I hafta get "permission" to winch?!! Like that's gonna happen.

When are we going to Alaska?

Great CGD:

It looks like you may be able to work AK in the summer and Cali in the winter. How can that be bad?
Set up dual residency in both states. Win Win, then sit back and watch all the cookies fly back and forth!

Lots a luck to you!

I carried a pair of 8's north last season. None of this nonsense up there!

They're friendly....so far.

Still holding breath,......
All I see is "Proposed".
May be some hope still, eh? :?
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.
Now, I just have to find the time to put the dang thing together.

Ya tell me about that???? As most of the tribs for the Feather are proposed Class E 9/1 to 1/31 right during fall trout spawning season.
Thought they were supposed to be protecting the fish or something???. Oh yeah, they are going to get us with that the next time around and completely shut us down.

Lots of BS to be talking about just, should read the alternatives to this plan. :?

4" nozzle restriction,
no motorized winches,
on-site inspection for more productive means,
cap on permits,
all 6 foot creeks closed and
no dredging within 3' of current water edge,
stream and river closures up the wazu ,
pump intake screen reduction,
dredge only hour after sunrise to sunset,
new river classifications A through H, with an awful lot of A's and E's :x
and there is plenty more BS just read it.
