Briwslave1, if they look like like fish scales it may not be good, but if you concentrate enough of them and black sands, pound the crap out of them. With motar and pedstal or mill. Roast the hell out of them. The hottest oak, madrone, manzenetta (sp) coals you can get going. roast them outside for a couple hours. then coolthem and pan them, not so much pan out but separate minerals in pan. Look at them under an eyeglass/scope. I was told 4 years ago that a 50 gallon drum of black sands(from gold cons) already run over tables and such would and could pull 15 oz. I did my own test 2 years ago and cant find my notes ! This is somewhat I remember, I took 5lbs of black sand and cons that we already panned, letrapped and miller tabled. this was - 30 mesh . mixed them up good in a bucket and took a good couple scoops and run them in a hammer mill to -100 mesh then put them in a cast iron pan (not for cooking anymore) and roasted them, cooled them and put them in a tumbler with hg. Rolled them all night and half a day. panned them out and got 7 grains. I about crapped when I saw the amalgalm clump. I need to find my notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best paying ore I ever seen up here was laden in fools gold cubes. I have thrown more money in driveways and campgrounds as time has gone by. We now run our "spent cons" thru a hammer mill and stage the for further processing. My retirement or siskiyou tax money!

:o SAM-those who are perfect do nuttn' and you are definately NOT inflicted with that dreaded disease. I too must have notes but lose books, can't blame that on anyone but me as senior moments mount along with outside pressures on dredging. My only caveat would be to remove that hot mix and dump in a 55 gallon barrel and hit it with a gallon of water-CAUTION EXTREME REACTION called, ifn' I remember right-hahaha-fracking is the term. Same same as build a campfire on bedrock and hit with cold water and cracks all to pieces--tons a au 2 u 2 SAM as livn' the dream and respect too-John
