The purpose of DEF. was education. Aside from everyone having a lot of fun, the public, local county supervisors, state legislators, FS. and F&G. officials and so on were always invited and demonstrations were done to show the minimal impact of dredging. And for a few years this tactic worked well.

But things evolved. Education was eventually pushed aside by litigation and our battles began to be fought in the courtrooms. The organizers of DEF. were volunteers, most of whom spent countless hours of time and substantial personal expense to make the free rallies happen. In the end the battle became a game for lawyers and it remains so today.

we wanted to have rallys in every state. but i tried to get clubs/people to be sponsors/cosponsor for these rallys for 1 1/2 years with nobody willing to helpout and memberships started to slip off because of no rallys. other clubs had picked up the idea of spreading the DEF word and had rallys of their own (07 NWMiners rally in Orroville Washington) eventually Leonard and i talked and pulled the plug.it was a sad day!

;) When the fun fun fun ends and politics begin folks disappear and the few are left holding the bag(who did 99% of the work) as they are deserted. As always kudos to those who inspired to educate and party down BUT damn the lazy all to LL-John :?

" nobody willing to help out "
That is why we loose ground everyday.
All the greenies are organized to the nine's and small miners are not willing to help out.
I still say it is time to get organized on a national level or loose it all, I am willing to help out with anything I can do, I do not know on how to get started but would like to get the ball rolling any way I can.

We just need to keep educating others with the proper information and continue to move forward.

theres groups out there right now fighting for our rights! all you got to do is either join them or support them or send a donation. theres lots that can be done if people would just do it! just to many people riding on another persons efforts to save our rights! Denise just gave a perfect example of how to support these groups!
