"WE" don't have the money it takes to fight these idiots eigther. "WE" can't fight when "THEY" make all the rules,(and break most of them their selves!)! "WE" are better off trying to find a new idea for the Govt. to be ran!! It is like Russ said. I have been a part of many fights. Spent many hours going from location to location. Many of the support factors were busted by piddly little differences and uneducated assumptions. Those led to peoples lives being in between the rails of an oncoming train..

Miners are miners. Gold is over there! No Over there! California is better, Colorado is better, Alaska is better.

Quotes in the past which have been said to me as examples "We should move on from California and defend other states before we lose them too!" "If we take back California it will have precedence over other states!" Both quotes from respected miners I have. Form a group and you will have disposition on how decisions are made.

Until miners can actually unite instead of thinking others are "claim jumping" ideas or people who take lead investing their time to get ditched and thrown under the busses it won't happen. I will gladly put my effort forward for my son who loves talking about digging with me.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD EXAMPLE WHY IT IS TIME FOR THE MAJORITY OF MINERS TO EXTRACT THEIR CRANIUM FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE RECTUMS AND GET ORGANIZED OR LOSSE IT ALL, sorry about the caps key board was stuck.

Sierra Sam wrote:DJR- no offense intended "...we either all start pulling in the same direction or they will win..."

us vs. "them" - most always turns into a war cry. War cries lead to battles. Battles lead to collateral damage. Original issues become clouded like waters downstream of a claim. Then a broad brush is brought in by the "US", as in WE, the people, and then "we" end up paying annually renewable fees for every little element of prospecting, including paying for the officials who will be conducting random inspections to insure the letter of the new laws are being adhered to.

However, since "we" doesn't include, necessarily, those exemptions as applied to "Native" Americans. In such case the "we" more refers to those who basically squatted on lands otherwise "occupied" by those tribes and peoples who had resided, and whos culture and customs had evolved in the area for hundreds, if not thousands of years, as of relatively recently.

The dilemma of bringing Native Americans and the United States Government (that's "we") together on issues has been going on since the two met for the first time a while back.

All I know is that I don't want to have to take a test like I do to drive. And if you think about it, could you possibly envision a requirement to carry miners insurance? You know, just in case a fish dies within your claim? Or someone trips over your rig? Or someone witnesses a fish being diverted from it's "normal' path of travel?

I say, let's try a bit more on the "we" thing if we can.

Sam I don't want to be rude, but if you haven't figured out that we are in a war, and we are losing battles everyday. Then it is time to wake up.

There really are no difference when it is kept down to the mining law 1872. We need to make sure that it is enforced equally for everyone, and can't be dismantled bit by bit here and there.
Put the petty difference aside for the good of everyone, Or loose it all.

Hey Hoser,
Can ya post a link to those regs.?
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.
Now, I just have to find the time to put the dang thing together.

Its been a rough go for a few years on this. Miners work and think for themselves. (except the sellouts on tv) I/we can only donate to the guys fighting. We pay for them to represent and keep my angered mouth shut. Let the PLP and others fight with their legal strides and I will look for updates and keep mining the way our claim deposits dictate the way we will work them.

Well, again I think you are wrong, point in fact. The Greenies are banded together and they are kicking our asses.
Their goal is one thing to stop all small mining end of story they don't give a damn how they achieve it.
The miners need to band together drop all of the Bovine fecal matter and concentrate on what is important keep the mining right open so people can mine. Keeping mining open needs to be our goal, never mind the piddlie shit as long as we achieve it.
People will just have to learn to leave their personal baggage at home and concentrate on the big picture, Cause the greenies are and they are kicking our ass.
It is time that folks grow up and get their craniums out of the rectums, because if they have not noticed TIME IS UP
