Yuba River Mercury Study + Promack Mining

Postby Sean C » Thu Nov 10, 2011 12:30 pm

According the the study published the state hired Promack mining to help conduct the mercury study on the South Yuba river a while back. Has anyone heard anything from their point of view about how this study was conducted. I read through most of the study myself and much of their conclusions and assumptions were rubbish and I would just like to get the other side of the story. So if anyone of you had a chance to talk to Dave Mac about it and could share some insight it would be appreciated. I don't know Dave and I will keep my opinions about his activities to myself. I hope everyone else will do the same. Thanks.

why dont you contact Promack Minining and/or Dave Mac and ask them so you get first hand info on this.it seems that stories get a little twisted for each time a person tells it.

Maybe they have a document that could be published here.

Dave Mack created a document (which I cannot seem to find right now) where he discussed how the study was all twisted around and thus the findings were in effect bogus. The high level mercury concentrations were taken off Dave's prototype mercury extraction device (which was supposed to collect both mercury and recirculate the mercury laden water- duh! Of course the mercury concentrations were high. If I find the report I will post it here. Very telling.

Thanks guys.

Russau: I don't know why I didn't think of that. I suppose I just figured they would be to busy but I'll give it a shot.

Bluebeard: Anything you can find would be appreciated. Like you, I've spent a good deal of time working on the Yuba. In particular not far from where they conducted this study. I knew when BLM shut down dredging on that section for the study that it wouldn't be reopened.

This study was proven to be so flawed it was laughed out of the dredge hearings. I forget the name of the guy that came from Fla. that used Facts that made that study a joke. Even Stopher was awake for the presentation!!! How many of you actually suck up puddles of mercury???

thats not fair John. your comment is always welcome but nobodys comment is welcome if it slanders another or a person cant prove what he claims is true. if its factual and you can prove it, then it cant be contested!and whats the point of people curseing. nobody would like to hear someone cursing infront of their children, wouldnt you agree? and theres nothing going on in any state that can be rectified here on this forum/site.infact, argueing has chased people from some sites!
