Prospectin near Arnold on the Stanislaus

Anyone out there ever do any diggin in the Stanislaus River or its tributaries or in the creeks near Arnold, CA?
Got a friend up that way want'n tah know and I'd like a little insight before head'n that far south from my favorite sites near Jackson and Sutter Creek.
